Default boosted b16 fuel question

One of my friends has a boosted b16 ej. The car has 550cc injectors and stock fuel pump. When driving the car it sputters at 6,000 rpm. So you can not rev the car past 6,000 rpm right now. What we were told was a walbro 255hp would do the trick. My question is for the time being would an adjustable fuel pressure regulator work to supply more fuel to the engine so it wouldn't sputter out at 6,000 rpm? How much pressure does a b16 run stock and how much pressure would you need to compensate for 550cc injectors?

He should be running a walbro 255lph-hp.
I doubt the issue has anything to do with the fuel pump at the whp level the car is at now.

An adjustable fpr won't resolve your issue.

Was the car actually tuned by some one on a dyno etc? If so, who ?

Take the car to your tuner to have the issue diagnosed.

well he got the car the way it is. all we really know about it is that it has a p28 chipped with ectune and we were told it has a street tune. and we dont know who tuned the car. so you say you dont think it needs a walbro 255. are you saying it just needs a better tune?

It needs both a walbro 255 and a real tune.
Who ever said it was tuned on ectune is probably not telling you the truth.

well if its tuned it will run better no matter what, but yes it will run MUCH better with that fuel pump and a real tune.

either way, ur prolly not getting enough fuel at 15psi. it would make sence that ur not sputtering when u crank the preassure down 5 lbs.
