Yes cam gears are nice and they are even better with aftermarket
cams reason y they are good is cause they properly balance the cam
its self. There are certain cam gears that are better but for the most part
they all do the same thing. Aftermarket cam gears are normaly made out of Alum. and ur stock cam gears are heavy cast in return a lighter cam gear means its easyer to spin the cam = less drag = less friction better responce!
lmk if you have any more questions Id be glad to help!!

cam gears will add about 5-6 hp but will prolong your engine life
cams will add power def depending on what stage you go with
and what you combine them with , Valvetrain and Block cams will
raise the lift and duration on the valves in return adding HP

to get cams..ull have to get valve train as well...it will help..but if u have a b16 motor..id look for a gsr bottom end and just bolt that up...u can get that for about the price u can a good set of cams w/o valve train and gain just as much hp and a hell of a lot more tq...or u can get a gsr block and build it with either low or high comp and go all motor and maybe n2o or low comp and turbo...either way building a b16 is pretty much a waste of time....specially all motor..

your cam options are stage 1 aftermarket and type r from integra or civic. They will let the head breath better giving you a little power, but at the same time you will loose a bit of compression, losing a smaller amount of power. It's a gain, but better if you get the compression up a half point or so. Losing a layer on the head gasket and type r = perfect upgrade.
And building a B16 is not a waste of time. It's all relative. K series guys will tell you building any b series NA is a waste of time.

well..im not a k series guy..im still a b...im sayin for him...its a waste...unless hes going ALL OUT...then its pretty useless to stick with the b16 bottom end..why not buy a gsr bottom end..for say 500-700...or..buy 500cams..stage one ull gain maybe a whooping 7-10whp...or buy stage two cams..dual valve springs ti retainers...for 1000 bucks and gain 20whp? maybe..or..buy a cheaper gsr block and gain a good 20whp and a shit load more tq....im just sayin gsr bottom end ftw...itll be cheaper and have more power...then gettin cams..

^ Makes sense ^

Cams + all supporting MODS = $1000 = 9hp
GSR Bottom end = $800 = 20hp + 25tq

Being hard headed and buying teh cams anyway = Priceless.

Just think it bears repeating what the advice is here. A guy with a b16 asks what to expect from a cam upgrade.

The advice is to remove the engine from the car, strip the engine, buy a new head gasket, source a b18c block that has good bearings, cylinders, pistons, rings and a flat deck, etc and bolt the b16 head on and all the accessory parts, put the engine back in the car and drive.

I'll bet this guy is sorry he ever posted asking about swapping his cams.
