Default question about my teg.

i just picked up a 97 ls teg. u can physicly feel the shifter moving around. dosent have any problems shifting but when u speed up or slow down u fiil the stick move. i figured a tranny mount was broke? any ideas?

normal to an extent - under load it will move around a bit

ive never had that happen to me in any car ..ive seen it in a few of my boys cars back in the day mainly the ones that are lowered and bottom out alot...

the shift linkage is a solid mount on the tranny so any movement in the motor would cause it to move. It is normal to an extent.

a lil vibration is very normal....esp if somone put poly bushings on the linkage......check your motor mounts anyway, all it takes is a flashlight.

yea my friends motor mounts were bad in his eg and the shifter went everywhere so like they said it ok to an extent a lil movment isnt bad but if it gets to bad then it is prob. ur motor mounts i would check them anyway just to be safe

Check your rear tranny mount. If your motor rocks under load,this is usually the culprit.
