thanks for the bump bro...

so i assembled the bottom end, new standard bore rings, used the new headgasket i had the first time, and the new head....

so i crank it up last night, and im not getting anything. wont run at all. i check the compression in #1 and get 30 fucking PSI. i get a heinekin and go to sleep.

get up this morning, go check all the compression again, and i got #1-4: 190, 185, 170, 150.

so everything is better, on the whole, but i still have this weird decrease...

any ideas? it will run and idle fine now, i just dont want to drive it around knowing the numbers are that different.

oh, and the head i got last night from mike got the Kevin-gas-test-special, and passed with flying colors.

Did you disable the injectors. A fresh motor might give weird numbers if the injectors are squirting and washing the walls of the oil. Drive it a bit and see if the rings seal a little better. Also how did you prep the cyliner walls?

i had the injectors clips unplugged while i was checking compression, but i did have em on when i tried to run it at first, so that may have affected it...

i will go drive it around a bit and see what happens.

cylinder walls got a light hone from a 3-stone hone on a drill with some cutting oil, the same way ive prepped all my engines....
