OK guys so here is the deal. My car was driving fine when I got to the house. Two hours later I go to start it up and it doesn't start and I hear a clicking noise comming from around the ECU area. I take off all of the panels and track down the noise and it is comming from the MAIN RELAY.

Now I am trying to order a new one and the parts I am finding is off by one part number, and is grey instead of black. So before I go spending $50 to get it I wanted to know if it will work.

I am also wondering if the clicking means that the relay is bad, or if something else could be bad and causing this relay to click. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Here is a write up on how to fix the main relay you have. I have done it a couple of times on EFs and it works. The main reason that relays go bad are corroded joints. Here is a link on how to fix it. Hope this helps, if you dont have a soldering iron, you should be able to get what you need at wal-mart for under 25$

Depending on how the relay is mounted, sometimes a cheaper relay can be bought, and wired in to function the same as the original.

By comparison, Radio Shak relays don't cost $50. -Bob

 

Hey i`m just wondering if you solved your issue. I`m having the same problem with my `93 civic. I do hear the relays clicking too.
