I searched everywhere and i cant find out what timing belt i need.


Im running a y7 block with jdm d15b head. I think i just need the stock y7 belt, because i read that the d15b head is the same casting as the d16z6 head. But i cant find a deffinate answer so im going to ask you guys.

the timing belt should match the head, along with the hg.

 

Well from what i read, z6/y7/y8 timing belt is the same. As for the head gasket, are you sure it has to match the head? d15b parts are hard to find

 

sohc vtec timing belt and y8 head gasket. oh and 95gainfla you don't always wanna run the same t-belt as the head think about using a ls bottom and b16 is a b16 t belt gonna work lol

Yes the D15B head is the same head as the D16z6 head. The camshaft profile is a bit diffrent though. The Z6 headgasket is the one to use, with the exception of the water pump and tbelt (For a jdm D15B these would be the P08 parts off of a VX engine - D15z1) everything else would be refrenced with a Z6 part. i.e. headgasket, distributor, valve cover gasket, e.t.c.
