a breather for example is the little filter looking thing youll see on valve covers and most moroso style catch cans. a catch can is a baffled container that separates oil and air. It "catches" the oil and allows the air to be released.
Call larry at endyn directly if you want a catch can setup, number is 817-924-9334 price is $164 shipped |
ok so whats the point of the breather?I have the little filter on there... is that what i will be changing if i do the endyne thing? I thought that the endyne catch can was to help release the crank case pressure :dunno:

the filter just keeps oil from slashing out, it helps keep the liquidy part of the vapor in the catch can. it there was just an open hole you get oil spray everywhere over a long period of time.
a catch can is a name of a baffled can, not a system. the endyn setup incorporates this type of can into its catch can setup along with fittings for the back of the block(where crank case pressure vents thru), lines, fittings, and a filter for the catch can keep in mind a filter doesnt always have to be sucking in like an air intake filter, there type of filters work in the opposite direction...from the inside out |
yeah well my filter blows out small amounts of oil .. not really blows out, but you can see some oil on the bottom of it... thanks 99b16si that makes MUCH more sence now.. rep for you

my favorite site is Wikipedia, that's where I get all of my information. So I've been reading up on an oil catch can. And you mentioned baffles. Can you diagram what a Baffle looks like please. This is what I came up with for Baffle.
oh and here are some relevant links about this subject from other sights. Honda-Tech 1 Honda-Tech 2 Turbod16 |
The baffle is inside the can. Basically its a series of channels that separate the oil from the vapors. The oil drops because of gravity and the vapors rise, flowing out of the filter.
