Hey I'm about to sell my GSR thats in auto trader and its acting up i havent fired it up in about a week and its hard to start the first time or when u dont start it for a day. And when it is started and warmed up i cant rev it without having it back fire and sound like a subaru all the way to the higher rpm's about 6-8. When its idleing ill WOT it and it will either stall or rpm's well not raise and backfire. but when i ease the gas it goes up fine. and ill sit there and rev the shit out of it trying to make it go away thinking its injectors. any ideaS?! it's gonna be sold and i dunno wtf is wrong with it

 

Did you check the plugs? Change the wires?

 

does it run good at high rpms? what happens if you let it idle and unplug the iacv?

 

i hcekced them and they work fine there denso iridiums and ive had them for like 6 months, and i cleaned them just incase. it idles fine it just bogs and backfires like 100000 times when i nial it form idle. and will run like shit. rpms will actually fall and backfires and i caught my yard on fire holding WOT at 3-4 k backfiring and not going anywhere

sounds to me like your rotor in your distibtuor TAKE off your dist. cap and make sure the screw has not fallen out i bet it is loose or fell out

 

Did you perhaps wash the engine bay down with water to make it Bling for a better sale?

If so...Check your Cap/Rotor like rangcrx said or make sure there is no water sitting in the spark plug holes, I've had the same symptoms before and that turned out to be my problem.
The wires were conducting a dull spark because of the water..
