Default Tranny Problems

Well my buds car has a fairly new clutch in it, no he didn't learn to drive stick on it. Words takin from what he said that one of his freinds said "he said something about the fork of the tranny that grabs into the clutch, and its making a hole, cause he thinks my 2nd or 3rd gear is gonna be gone if i keep downshifting hard, he thinks the fork is fucked."

Basically shifting hard it slips 1-2 and 2-3 seems like a slipping clutch and eys it is adjusted properly but his friend is saying that its what is stated above any ideas?

So if he does need a new tranny, What would be the best to go with for gears that would best for the dragstrip?

Well lets see......My cars clutch has been slipping a lil bit for the past few months...really bad between 1st and 2nd gears at 8200 RPM.....2nd and 3rd as well....
when it starts to slip its gonna die sooner or later. There is nothing you can do about it but change it.

My clutch Finally went today....lol....It went out like a champ though...ordered my new clutch 2 wks ago, should get it tomorrow. Kinda weird it died the day before.

Well, the clutch isnt that old but he always downshifts to slow down at lights, corners, etc....

Could it be the fact that the flywheel wasn't machined when it was changed and it has hotspots or glazed over? (i didnt change it)

Also what clutch did you have and what are you getting now?
