Default Piston to deck height....**question**

ok so the forumla i think is right is

(deck height - stroke/2) - (piston compression height + rod length) = piston to deck height

This is for a GSR

deck height is 212.39
stroke is 87.2
piston compression height is 29.9974
rod length is 137.90

212.39-87.2(2) - 29.9974+ 137.90

( 37.6 ) - ( 167.8974 )

37.6 - 167.8974

= -130.2974

my piston to deck height cant be that much negative....

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat the fuck am i doing wrong?

well for starters your math it wrong. you multiplied 212.39 and 87.2 when you should have devided. that will leave you with 168.79 - 167.8974 which will equal 0.8926. does that solve anything?

i dont know what you are talking about???

i didnt multiply 212.39 and 87.2
i divided the stroke 87.2 by 2

then subtracted that from the deck (212.39dlkasdjflsjl;sajkl;kasj;flsdjf0398409238505 32)???

i dont fuckign know...i suck right now. Im going to use kevins forumla ande see whats up. BRB

ok so....

Deck height - (stroke/2 + rod length + compression height) = piston to deck

212.39 - (87.2/2 + 137.90 + 29.9974) =0.9

so piston to deck heigth is 0.9mm

meaning the piston is sticking out 0.9mm @ TDC

anyone second this?

Also this is with CP 83mm 11-1 comp pisons.

The whole reason i done this was because i didnt know if i could use a 81mm headgasket with these pistons. and i figured with a negative PDH i could HMmmmmmmmmmm

thoughts?

i meant to say you multiplied 87.2 and 2 instead of deviding them. when you got the 37.6 number.

i didnt even notice that equation was wrong sorry.

a stock head gasket is 81.97mm anything bigger then 82mm pistons you have to use custom or else you will be having fun rebuilding
