yeah i know that civics are 4x100 and figured that the 4h meant 4 hole and 5h meant 5 hole, also figured that the 6.5 and 7.0 are the width of the wheel, but did not think of the offset which is +40. So these sizes are standard ok sizes for a civic? offset is how flush or far out the wheel would sit? how would a +40 offset sit on a civic? a '91. thanks for your input.
Logically, +40 milimeters would reach outward about 1 1/2"; from the
center of the wheel's width. That would be a factor with outer tire/fender clearance.
You then adjust your coilovers, so the tires tuck into the fenders without touching fenders when you hit a bump. You can also have the inner lip rolled inward/up for slightly more tire clearance.
Everything is a compromise: wheel width vs lowering vs tire sidewall heighth, etc.........-Bob

ok thanks for all the input. i was looking at some ls mesh that i have and on the wheel is says 15x6 JJ 45. so 15 being the diameter of the wheel, 6 being the width and 45 being the offset. but do not know what the JJ is for or what it means. but i do have a better understanding of the whole wheel thing now. with the offset being 45 and the width being 6 on the oem ls mesh this setup sits about a half inch to a inch in the fender front and back. so i am figuring with the .5 less offset but the +1 width on the wheel that i am looking at it should relatively sit about the same. thanks again.
