crx related question
anyone know where I can get a stock JDM hood from around here or somewhere that can order one for me without a ridiculous price? I don't think the stock hood'll fit my jdm b16~ I'd appreciate some responses or pm's~
It will fit, What kind of mounts? The jdm hood wont do anything different. The jdm crx sir have differnt mount possistions and it sits lower. And if you do get a jdm hood you need to get the whole front end conversion. You cant just slap a jdm hood on. Cut out the skeleton and it will clear. For example with hasport mounts the hood wouldnt clear and hasports are one of the most expensive mounts. Ive done it multiple times.

the motor mounts are hasport and yeah I've been told I need the SiR hood so what other options do I have, I'd cut the skeleton but dunno that that'll make it work and it'll be weaker.... what after market hood will fit that's decent-looking~ this sucks
it doesnt matter you will have to cut the hood. it wont make it weaker. Ff anything just a cheap carbon fiber hood use hood pins and that will work. On my old crx I had a carbon fiber hood that was janky as hell. cut a big hole in it put a spray painted black peice of sheet metal on it. to clear the hasport mounts. the that hood flew up went over the side of the bridge because I had cheap apc hood pins and one broke. i then had a civic hatch back hood with the skeleton cut out and had not one problem going 180kmh+ (jdm gauge cluster
) so just cut away at the stock hood and dont look back it will be fine.trust me you wont be happier. if you are scared after cutting it and you dont think your stock hood latch will hold it down then get sparco hood pins which are really nice.

hey man thanx a lot... I'll do what you said... so the brand of 'pins' really makes a difference in quality? and when you say 'cut' you still mean just the skeleton right? cause if that's it then I'll do it just to make it work? I was almost considering cutting a scoop into it but that'd look ugly as hell...
yeah just cut the skeleton. yeah they where really cheaply made and I know plenty of people that use the sparco's pins.
