Default LSD in a GSR tranny

OK, im rebuilding my whole engine at the moment, and in the process im thinking of getting a type R LSD but im not sure if it would fit into my gsr tranny, well i know it will fit but i heard the final drive ratio is different, so would it be possible to actually put the LSD in it or would i have to purchase another or maybe fix something on the LSD to make it drivable in the GSR. if anyone have an comment feel free to put ur 2 cent in. and please, if u dont have anything good to say, just dont comment

You will have to get a new ring gear I believe... I think the GSRs ring gear has a unique bolt pattern, where LS, B16, and ITR/CTR trannies are all the same... If this is the case just get a Ring gear out of any of those transmissions and you will be good to go...

LS and B16 are the same and gsR and ITR are the same, i know that an ITR diff WILL fit in a B16 , most people said it could but you do have to do some slight mods internall to the tranny. i had an ITR diff in my gsR tranny and i dont remember us doing anything special to it.

i know they are good diffs, this one in particular held over 300hp forever, and i never broke it or anything i just got a different one.

If your going to do it anyway, don't mess around with a ITR LSD, just get a Quaife - It will hold on a FI car no problem.

I would agree with the Quaife, The ITR LSD isn't that strong, and a little wheel = BOOM !

+1 Going through all that work and stuffing it with midgrade/oem parts isn't worth the hassle. Do it right the first time and get the quaffie. Does anybody know if the phantom grip brace is worth anything or is it just a waste of time/money.

Central Florida Turbo was making damn near 700whp and running on the Phantom Grip, and I never heard of any problems... I do however reccomend getting the newer model with the more heavy duty "race" springs...
