Default --MAXIMUM REDLINE ON STOCK INTERNAL'd B16a2???--

I was wondering what is the "MAXIMUM" redline i can safely take my B16a2 to???.... i hear that B16's and B18c1's have the same valvetrain.... dual intake. single exhaust? .... i have a JDM small P30 ecu.. with what i believe is a Type R program.. the Vtec Kicks @ 5800//// and redline is around 8400-8500.

stock redline is 8000 for b16a2.. but i was wondering if i can take it to 8500 w/o doing harm.. thanks

also...i doubt i can take it that far and make power... i just dont want to float a valve if ya know what i mean

would 8200 be safe and still make power?

THANKS FOR THE INFO!

btw:: engine mods include

AEBS Intake Manifold
Hondata Cooler Intake Gasket
AEM short Ram intake
Comptech Stainless 4-2-1 headers
Tanabe G-medallion catback
B&M Fuel Pressure regulator
NGK Iridium sparks plugs

fuck....i used to take my ls up to 8200 daily. i have seen b16's in the upward 9's but they generally stop making power around 8100 or so.

The p30 program only pushes total timing of 26.75 deg with a revlimit of almost 8300 rpms & vtec activation of 5875 rpms.

I recommend a chipped ecu with better ignition timing & a vtec xover at 5600 rpms, revlimit where ever you wish i.e. 8900 rpms.

Concerning where a b16 stops making additional power you couldn't just assume every motor peaks at 7500 rpms. Every motor is different

thanks mtber for the info... hmm.. i guesss i was wrong about the p30.. i guess its just stock haha. So if my p30 is stock...... and the p30 was MADE for the B16's... that means i can take it to 8300 w/ no problem right??
or does the JDM spec P30 and the USDM p30 have somehting diff since JDM has 10.4 and the USDM has a 10.2 compresion ratio?
i just dont want to float a valve lol...

thanks
