Bov ???

i just got my BOV. and it look like UPS played soccer with my package. i was pressure testing it, just by using my mouth, and it leaks a little air. is the normal. or is it a bad BOV?

depends on the BOV. If you don't see any cracks or damaged areas of the BOV. I wouldn't worry about it right away. If there is a defect, the manufacturer should RA the item.

there are no cracks. just it leaks where the piston closes around the housing. it is realy small leaks. just though it should have no leaks or you would have a boost leak and lose boost???. i don't know muck about turbo cars??

NChatch 02-17-2005 10:40 AM

first what kind of BOV is is, there are a few types ie: push,pull,push-pull,block.

if it has a vacuum nipple on it, then the piston is pressurized shut by boost, otherwise it will be able to bypass a tiny bit of air.

and i think the spool up on your mouth is a lot less powerful than your turbo!!

funny tho
