My SOHC on the dyno

So I went to the dyno party at Sam's last Friday. After Allan put the xB on there, I thought, "Hey I could win second place for the slowest car in here!" Dayum I couldn't get first :( ;)

Now I am not familiar with reading these dyno charts and it was done on a Mustang Dynamometer, in the comments you will see that the Inertia base test results, similar to Dynojet. So I am unaware if this is comparable to the numbers I would pull on a Dynojet or if there would be any difference at all.

So any help understanding where I should be, could be, what could be done to improve is welcome. The 146 whp pull was done at 38lbs of FP and the 148 at 36lbs. The vtec is set at 4800rpm, which you can see that my engine has a little difficulty at that point. I'm no Titan car am I? :lmao:

David had wanted 150 whp out of this motor at it's final stage. Here I am at stage I and hitting *near* that number. Stage II deals with suspension. Stage III a few engine upgrades and engine management.

The 125 ft/lbs of torque made me smile just a little :)

For my first rebuild, using David's ideas, I am happy with my daily driver. It's fun for me. :D

148? Wow acutally that puts you closer to the 170 at crank range at like 15% drivetrain loss. I thought there was an a/f chart too?

And I bet on a cooler night or a little more timing, you coulda gotten 150

wow im very impressued with the numbers. keep in mind how much power youre missing from running so rich. those a/f ratios look good for a boosted car but not for n/a. youll easily pick up another 5-7whp from leaning out the mixture to about 13.0. also a mustang dyno doesnt read as high as a dynojet. i bet with some good tuning youll put down 160-165whp on a dynojet
