Anything you can do to make your training more realistic is worth the price you pay for it. And these three-dimensional silhouettes from a company called Rubber Dummies are a prime example of why it is important to take your training to the next level.
These rubberized polymer targets give you a nearly three-dimensional look at what it is actually like to shoot at a human torso. Your target areas change as you move, thus giving you different shooting angles for all your drills. You can even add packets of red powder to the back of the target that give a visual indication when you hit a vital area.
When shot will full metal jacket ammo, Rubber Dummies will absorb thousands of hits and remain virtually unharmed thanks to the self-healing nature of the polymer. This makes them a great value. A single target retails for about $230, but considering that you can shoot it thousands of times, it is actually cheaper to buy Rubber Dummies than to keep buying cardboard IPSC targets over and over. And if you want the reactionary paper targets, expect to pay $5 each for those. Simply paint the Rubber Dummies targets with inexpensive spray paint and you can see where your rounds impact. Shooting at a 3-D target really changes the way you look at pistol accuracy.
A Whole New Perspective
When you change the angle of your shot, you must change your point of aim to put rounds into the vital zone. This makes your training much more realistic.
