Default 1997 Camaro RS

I have a stock 1997 Camaro RS, Red. Not too bad of an engine. I got the 3.8L, not as slow as i thought. Really wanted to get a 95' Z-28, but too much $$$ and with the gas prices sky rocketing b/c of the possible war and the 5.7L doesn't help that problem at all.

Flowmaster 80 Series Muffler, single inlet dual-outlet
K&N Intake??? What would be the best intake for my car???
BBK Headers
Performance Chip

Any help on what products would be best for my car???

Well to each his own... but I saved up for a Z because i knew i'd never be satisfied with a 6. But if i did have a 6 cylinder i'd throw a 75 shot of nitrous on it. I'd look into morosso for an intake. you dont have a chip.. you have an obdII computer.. I wouldnt waste my money on hypertech crap either. If u do some mods and or add nitrous then get your pcm tuned at pcmforless.com.

Maybe check into getting a better gear. Unless you have the Y87 performance package, then I'm pretty sure you have a 3.08. If you can find a posi-3.42 rearend for cheap, it might be worth it.

look at the codes in the door jams. they use the same codes as thier big brother V8.

GU4=2.73
GU5=3.23
GU6=3.42

i dont think many v6's came with the GU6 option. if it is a manual, then it most likely has the GU5 option.

Z28 rears do not swap in as easy as you think. the strut mounts in the back use diffent hardware than the V6. it can be done, but you need alot of extra parts.

Shawn, how is the new rear treating you so far?

Those little 3.8s really like the nitrous as well. They can easily take a 75 shot and some have run up to a 150 shot. A 75 shot would be a real kick in the pants and not affect gas milage.

Just to clarify, GU2=2.73, , I know from experience, and you're right Corey, not many V6s came with 3.42s, that was part of the Y87 performance package (with dual exhaust, no fancy tips). I learned that after I bought my first camaro, a V6 (which I got rid of for the TA). I'm pretty sure most of the V6s came with an open diff. 3.08 tho.

Anyway, to answer you're question, I love it. It was inexpensive, thanks to Devil505, not too hard to do (I did it with some assistance), and I can definitely "feel it pull" a little harder. Hell, at WOT, most of the time I can get a little chirp going into 2nd.
