Default LT1 to L98

I might be picking up an 88 Corvette that would need a lot of work to get it to where it would be worth something. This Corvette has an L98 that was rebuilt less than 10k miles ago. Not exactly sure what was done but I do know it has new pistons and rods. Not sure what else. The motor does not run right now because of wiring issues. When it did run, it ran strong. It also comes with a 700R4 transmission that was rebuilt with a shift kit and H/D torque converter and has less than 50 miles on it. The interior in the Corvette is in rough condition. I can pick up the '88 Corvette with a parts car for $4,500. Would it be worth it to swap the motor and transmission into my '94 Z28 with 145k on the odometer and just part out the Corvettes?

If I do the swap, what is needed to make this set up work?

Thank you.

so swap out the trans...not the fuckin motor.

knowing l98 vette owners, its probably a fuckin truck converter and some b&m shift kit.

I read exactly what it says

And what I saw was "Hey, i'm retarded and want to swap some halfass supposedly rebuilt piece of shit tuned port engine, in place of my LT1 which still has the crosshatch on the cylinder walls, but i'm too cheap to repair the little things that are wrong with it, so instead i'll attempt some serious fail, by trying to install an engine that isnt even going to fit properly, will need a custom wiring harness, and will make even less power than i've got now"

If you consider me a retard for asking a question, then you shouldn't have even replied in my thread. I asked a question for advice. It's not halfass supposedly rebuilt. It's owned by my fathers boss who got the motor rebuilt just before his wife hydroplaned and wrecked the car. I have no clue how many miles my motor has on it. It has a tag on it from Eagle Engine Sales but I'm not able to get any information from them about it. So the engine in my car isn't the original motor. It leaks oil from the rear main, and the front seal. There is also a small tick that I am not able to locate. It also has a miss while at idle.

I was asking because it's going to be a lot of work to get the Vette back into good shape, thats all.

It is taking a huge step backwards... I meen if your going to drop 4500$ on this vette why not take that money and rebuild the motor and trans you have or do a LSX swap?

The original plan was to get the vette and parts car and fix the wiring issue to get it running. and part out the parts car to compensate.
