I know any swap is possible with enough time/money/fab.....was thinking about swapping out my anemic 2.2l from my s10 for a 2.4l from a solstice/sky...the drivetrain is RWD but how hard would this swap be realisticly?

 

jus out of curiousity why would you want to go from a I4 to a I4? and not a 6cyl or 8cyl? Or even a turbo kit on the 2.2?

 

turbo kit on the 2.2l sucks big time, s10's come stock with v6's, and everyone and their brother has a v8 s10.

i wanted something different that offers a little extra power with better aftermarket support.

 

For all the effort, i'd seriously consider just swapping to a 4.8, then at least when you realize you want bigger better, everything can be retained just swap the longblock out.

If you are hell bent on the solstice drivetrain, the first thing to check out is the oil pan configuration, as this would present the biggest issue if its front sump, or something else that isnt going to agree with your crossmember.

 

i think its a great idea.....you should do it. nothing like gaining .2 liters of raw hp!!!!!!!!!! you will go from running 17's in the quarter to 16.8's!!!!NASTY
