quick question....
i have a 2000 pontiac grand prix gt with the nonsupercharged 3.8 v6....now my question is would the tranny from the supercharged version bolt up to my motor or will there be alot of prolems doing that? i only ask bc i can get the supercharged tranny for about 400$ cheaper
the main difference is that the GTP has a 2.93 final drive and a heavy duty diff. the GT has 3.29 gears. thats it. if interested i can change the gearing for you in the PCM.

The non-supercharged tranny is a 4t65e. The supercharged tranny is a 4t65e-HD "heavy duty". There is a gearing difference so the PCM will have to be reflashed. You can use your 4t65e torque converter on an HD trans. You will need a passenger side HD axle from a 2000 GTP. The HD trans has a larger differential and the axle is shorter then a non-HD trans.

well the tranny im looking at comes with the drive axels and torque converter.....so im not to worried about that part and about how much do you charge for the pcm flash impalamike3800?
The torque converters have different bolt patterns. You would have to re-drill your flexplate or get the correct flexplate. I would recommend using your non-HD torque converter because it is physically smaller and has a higher stall then an HD converter. Depending of coarse if your tranny failure compromised your torque converter.

well sort of i lost 4th gear and thats y im replacing it but it also throwns a check engine light bc of something to do with my torque converter...i dont remember quite what it was anymore its ben over a year since i have driven the car...figured id just replace it all and the gtp tranny seems a better fit since its runnin nitrous
