Default 84 El Camino carb question

So I picked up an 84 El Camino SS a few weeks ago with a bad carb and rather than just replace the carb, I did what any gearhead would do. I bought a new Edelbrock intake(non-EGR) and 600cfm Edelbrock carb along with gutting all the AIR crap and picked up new long tube headers.

So here is my question. Am I going to run into any problems getting this new carb to run since the ECM seems to play a big part in the function of the whole ignition/timing/fuel aspect of this car?

Okay so I will need a normal vac advance HEI and a kit from b&m to keep the lockup. How will changing to a normal dis affect my the reading of my stock "tick tock" tach?

Edit: Also are you talking about this for the torque converter? http://www.jegs.com/i/B%26amp%3BM/130/70244/10002/-1

I didn't read that anywhere, just asking ahead of time to be sure. So on the downside I have to buy a new dis, on the upside, I am totally buying an MSD one.

Okay so I found out that I am lucky enough to have a turbo 350 instead of a 700R4. Will I still need a lockup controller?

That has nothing to do with it, It the torque converter that locks up when in high gear to help with gasmilage providing a 1:1 ratio and keeps the temp down. The fact you have a 3spd over a 4spd meens that you really want and need to get it to work with lockup.
