Default left blinker problem

well my firebirds left blinker decided to shit out on me about 2-3 weeks ago. when i put the left blinker on, the light just stays solid, no flashing of any kind. and even in the dash it stays solid in there too, meaning the green little arrow doesnt flash. so i checked my bulb and it was fine, so i checked out the front and that bulb worked in the right blinker socket, just not the left socket. so i bought a new socket, i havent installed it yet, but i was talking to a friends online the other day and he was telling me it might not be a socket at all, it could just be the relay or something thats under the dash. any help at all will be much appreciated. and rep'd of course.

there is a blinker relay under the dash.

I've had my turn signal go out and "stay solid" due to a bad bulb in the taillight

make sure all your taillight bulbs are lighting up

Yup, if all the taillight bulbs are shot, it's the relay. It's either under the dash on the drivers' side or in the panel on the left of the dash when the door is open. I forget.

when you said you checked your bulb, did you check both front and rear bulbs on the left side?
