Possible new Camaro SS Owner--Have ???
whats up fellas!!
Got some questions for ya..
I might be getting a 1999 Camaro SS with 40,000 miles on it..
Here is the ad:
This car will put an easy 450 range to the wheels the way it sits.... But I want something I can take to the track and drive.. I can with this car but I really dont want to... Let me know what you got. Thanks... I REALLY LOVE this car and Dont really care if I trade it. I WILL KEEP IT! 1999 camaro ss
This is a very clean car!! The car was painted two years ago, and still looks awsome.
The mods are
Custom paint,
eibach sportlines
Polished C5 wheels with Hoosier drag radials
mac mid-length headers
mac off-road y pipe
mac 3in. cat back
clear markers
slp grill
hurst short throw shifter
spec stage 4 clutch
slp air box k&n filter
no smog stuff
LS6 intake
I just added Patriot Performance Stage 2 heads,
Thunder racing Hardened pushrods
Thunder racing 224/112 LSA cam
Also Brand new 410 gears and a COMPLETE upgraded Rebuild kit in the Rearend... AWSOME CAR!!
The motor is a 2002 LS1 crate motor that was instaled in late 2002 (8000 miles)
The car has dark charcoal leather interior, ss floormats, t-tops, and much more.
ONLY 40XXX miles

I'm trading my GT for this car... Anyone have any suggestions or comments about the car.. Anything I should be cautious about with this year?
The only thing I'm not to be big on are the flames, but I will just get that repainted more likely.
Is there anyway that this car would put any where near 400-450 to the tires with the mods listed??
As you can tell, I'm not much of a chevy guy.
Thanks!

any idea of what this car would be worth, if I wanted to flip it?
It should put down around 415-430 rwhp depending on how good the heads were done up and the tuning. Mac midlenght headers arent all that great...but I have seen some decent #s with them. Not a bad car. Where is it located.
I would say value is a little less than what Ghost 727 said. id say between 14 to 17k depending on the up close condition.

Thanks HybridSS,
The car is located in Texas. I have been doing some searching on LS1 for the past couple of hours. I didnt realize how bad the 10 bolt rears are in those cars. Should it hold for awhile at these power levels?
The car will never see slicks of course, maybe some TR events or weekends with DR's.

I might get banned from the Ford forum. We'll see, we are still working out some
of the details on the trade still. Hell, I havent even driven an SS yet, I might go test drive one this week at some dealer, if I can find one.
the ten bolt is a crap shoot. I went 10.3 at 135 on mine with a six speed and 1.44 sixty foot. One of the axles did get twisted slightly though.
Others break them on the street. Wheel hop is real bad for these rears. But you will probably be ok. If it breaks parts are usually cheap.
