Default Running an LE1 untuned, stock injectors

A friend of mine is considering going with an LE1 heads/cam package partially because he seems to be having valve sealing issues and figures he might as well upgrade while getting refreshed heads. The only problem is he doesn't want to shell out the cash for injectors and tuning for a while. Can you run an LE1 package on stock injectors and stock tuning without blowing something up? I'd expect a lot less power than advertised and perhaps a poor idle/drivability, but will it go lean and kill the engine?

meh IMO LE1 package isn't that radical, it's comprable powerwise to an LT4 package

you won't get the full potential but I don't really see any reason to worry on damage

That would be good, that means he can go ahead and order it. He was considering the LE2 package but it's an extra 3-400 and only seems to put down another 20-30 whp according to their site, and they stressed a need for tuning. It also stretched the rpm range a little higher than he likes.

def spend the extra 300 on the LE2...alot more potiential...and it should be fine for a while on stock tune...you will get shitty gas mileage...but if you can't afford a tune then oh well...You can go to www.madz28.com and get unlimited tunes for 60 bucks. All you need is a cable from www.akmcables.com If his car is a '94 i'll sell him my cable b/c i sold my car! Good luck!
