Default LT1 Gas Gauge

Hey just wondering what could the problem be. It will like go up and down 1/8th of a tank at certain times, than yesterday I had less than 1/8th tank put 5 bucks 93 in there, and than it shot up to 3/8ths of a tank, and when driving home from work today now it says I have more than 1 half a tank.

All F-bodies do that. It's the shape of the tank. It is a V shape, so when its low you can add $5 and it will go up half way. Its the 2nd half that takes forever to fill.

Also its not wise to go low on the fuel just for that reason. you will starve the pump at the bottom of the tank.

I hate running it that close, I freak out when I go less than 1/4 tank. but now that u mention it, when I have a full tank, it seems like it takes longer to get to half then to half to empty.

fix: if you do a fuel pump swap, take the fuel level sending unit arm, and bend it upward. so the float is higher. it causes it to read there is less fuel than there is. i bent mine at about a 30* angle. so when it says i have a 1/2 tank, i probably have a gallon or two more than what it would usually have at that reading
