If you want emission legal, stay 224 duration or smaller. Forget about all the G5Xx cams. look to the Thunder Racing 224.

but when it comes down to it, an engine is an engine...what makes them different is flow characteristics of the heads, exhaust, and a plethora of other factors...but you take a 347, and an LS1, and you give identical flowing heads, identical cam, identical compression, identical rotating assemblies (granted varying manufacturer differences) you will get the same results.

Sneakin, country said my thoughts perfectly.

jdk: I LOVE your write-up. Idiot friendly THAAAATS ME!!! Thank you.

From what I understand...

I do not want too big of an LSA, because if I keep my power range from let's say 3600 to 6500 it will be the overall quickest combination, right?

What would you guys/most people do come time for emissions? Just not get a sticker and not drive your car?

I don't want to spray too much through my motor cuz stock internals and DO NOT have the money for a rebuild.

I can deal with noise, as long as it doesn't sound like an all out top fuel dragster.

Due to the very efficient chamber design...but more importantly the computer. It will help with idel and part throttle characteristics. What is a huge street cam in an older set up can be quite mild in a LS1. You can go to a very big cam and still get good gas milage with an LS1 as well. Vince still gets in the mid 20s for gas milage in his 550+ rwhp 408 LS1. Thats due to chamber design and computer.

but like i said, when it comes down to it, if you have a 347 and an LS1...and you made everything the same, you would get practically the same numbers. thats all i was saying.

and you can get that same identical cam from RX.

I'm still really undecided on cam. *sigh* Sorry to be a pain in the ass. You don't have to reply if you don't want to. I'm searching I promise.
