**pics** next Zo6 engine looks like it will be a 7.0
I almost agree Kenny, should jsut sell my shitbox and buy a NMRA car out of autotrader...looks good that Gm is stepping up, Im sure the next Zo6 will be outrageous but cheaper than the Ford GT. Buick needs to make an affordable turbo 6 so we can all go out and be insane together!

Well good to see some of you know what was meant when posting about the new GT.
And also it always doesn't have to do with just how much HP a car makes you know. Best of luck to this new possible GM but as of right now the new GT is going to be hard to beat.

I was reading that this is not going to be the new engine. These are just engine shots of the caddy race cars. They have been using the 7.0l for a while. That does not mean it will be in the new z06.

So you are saying the 7.0 Ls2 motor will not put down 500/500 when the 6.0 Ls2 is already putting down 400/400? I got to say that is a pretty dumb statement.

This is true....its all still speculation until we see the Z06. However....Those caddys are using mostly all GM factory parts. No where else in production is there a 7 liter, nor is there head castings or the intake like that. And they have factory GM production #s stamped on them.
GM is producing them. They have also shown up on some GM backed concept cars. Its going into something. If I had to bet...it would be the Zo6.
I can only hope they will use the block in trucks too as that will make them more available to us for cheap.

This is true...we wont know until we actually see the next Z06. However...I have a few inside sources that race these cars, that have done testing on these next motors...they all say it is the LS7. We will see.
Remember the pic I posted of me holding a funky LS1 style intake a while back?
Well...its the same intake thats on these caddies. Here is a reply from a good source:

That intake is a LS7, for the big cubic inch corvette that will be coming out in a few years. Nice manifold and makes good power. When I worked at Katech we were doing the initial tests on that manifold. If you think the manifold is nice wait till you guy's see the heads it bolts on to. They are going to be a cross between the current heads and the C5R heads. I have flowed a few sets and they have all flowed right around 370cfm. Can't wait till they come out!!
