STAll QUESTION
A buddy of mine and I were arguing about this the other night. If I take a bonstock LS1 with the stock torque convertoer on it and then take another LS1 and put like a 3200 stall in it, won't the car with the bigger stall dyno less horsepower to the wheels? That is my thinking. Am I wrong?

Same car roughly the same HP base line and add a stall then yes the car with the stall will dyno less. Same car M6 over stock A4 will dyno 10 hp or so less.

not necessarily. if you take an efficient convertor, say something like a yank sy3200 compare it to a stock unit, you could gain a few rwhp. but as a genearl rule, you will loose power with a bigger looser stall convertor.
my car which is a cammed stock headed car, only pulled 365 rwhp but traps 116 mph in the cold air.
also locking the convertor is a different story as well.
