Default Stock Block stock crank LS1 goes 8s

Harlans second trip to the track netted the folowing:

This is a 346 ci motor with a stock aluminum LS1 block and stock crank. The rest is forged and solid roller I believe, two medium turbos.

He has alot more in it thats for sure. that 1/8 mphis crazy. 60 foot needs help but im sure he will get all that down.

I would settle for having my cam swapped and some N2O. Turbos are in a whole different price galaxy for those of us on a tight budget.

Did you guys see the other carin the Vid? I absolutely LOVE that perspective. Car is just shot out of a cannon. The other car was Dan Millens race car. Apparently he was doing some T&T with a small turbo and ran like a 7.80 at 180+. How would you like to be lined up with that?

Harlans car is damn impressive. I am very happy with the fact that it is using the stock crank since I am using the stock crank as well on my build up.

Al when you say a stock crank,it's forged right? And the aluminum block,it's sleeved right?Very nice though, and if I was lined up Millen,I would just love to watch how fast he pulled away!!lol

Actually no...what I mean is both peices are stock not aftermarket. Just like you find in any run of the mill Z28. Its just a production LS1 crank. It is a forging but not the same process as say a Lunati or Callies forged crank. Those would be stronger. And the block is just a production LS1 block with factory sleeves, just like any other Z28.

Actually..after digging some more. It was a stock LS6 block, stock crank and stock main caps as well. Stock 6.0 head castings too.

Pretty damn strong..even I am amazed he didnt use billet main caps.

My stock 6.0 crank in my car is even a tad stronger since its from the trucks. It is a solid piece where as the LS1 is gun drilled down the center and hollow. Mine is 1.7 lbs heavier but should be stiffer. Not bad for a $350 piece.
