Default some newb questions

well idk I am looking to buy a car within the next two weeks I narrowed my choice down to the following cars...

Mitsubishi Eclipse Gst, Talon Awd Tsi (basically same cars)

A z28 and a t/a with lt1's (94+)

or maybe an older vette (looking @ an 89, 86 one right now)

I have a few questions I know a decent amount about the mitsu cars already but am basically clueless about the domestics. The lt1 produces about 275hp stock and 325 torque right ? Now, if I was working with about $1000 over the cost of the car for aftermarket parts, how much more over stock do you think I could get it ? (hp + torque wise) I initially looked @ nothing but the gsts, gsxs etc but now I'm kinda looking into the domestics. What do you guys think ? Would the older vette be the way to go or the z28 or t/a if I did decide to go domestic ?

Thanks in advance sorry I don't know much about domestics.

4th Gen LT1 is a better choice over a TPI Vette in my opinion.. Better interior, faster, better looking, etc...
1000 bucks will get u a 100-150 shot of nitrous relatively safely.
Or full bolt ons for around 300rwhp and 315 ft lbs of torque to the ground... good for around 13.6's at 105 or so.. on average

Im a bit skeptical about the 400 hp motor.....

I would definately go with a LT1 F body over a L89 Vette.

get an LT1 trans-am or camaro....can't go wrong, I love mine

can't tell you exactly how much MPG I get, but I get from Gainesville to Sanibel (300+ miles) on a little less than a full tank (going about 90+ mph most of the time)....mine's a convertible though and I believe the tank's a couple gallons smaller than a hardtop anyways.....either way the Lt1 gets relatively good gas mileage in both city/highway

get a firebird formula, its faster than z28 and T/a stock cuz its lighter if you get it without t tops.. my car has 312 hp and 330 torque with like $1500 in it and some free tuning from my friends
