For fun. Guess this set ups power

Ok this is the combination.

355 cubic inch LT1.
10lbs lighter crank
Pistons and rods at about 500grams each stock is probably around 700grams. Rods are 6inch which are longer than the stock 5.7 rods.
LT1 casting heads ported and valve job by a man who knows his stuff. Hgh velocity, good mid lifts peak 255cfms .550 lift.
Heads will be redone with around 270-275 peak cfms with increased velocity.
Cam is XE 230/236 .544/.555 lift LSA 112. Matching springs.
Nonadjustable 1.6 Roller rockers.
Hooker long tubes through custom y pipe with 2 high flow cats supporting 420rwhp without any loss.
Borla catback

Cold air induction, larger MAF ends, descreened.
Feeding into a 52mm tb.
52mm tb attachs to a port matched LT1 intake manifold that "might" have ski ramps removed off the head intake ports.

30 lbs SVO injectors which equate to about 31.6 lbs with the Walbro Fuel pump.

Underdrive pulley, TB bypass, 1le lighter/stronger drive shaft etc.

Tuned on a dyno
T56 manual 6 speed

So start guessing :)

id have to say 440ish.

Half Fast 04-21-2004 08:45 AM

How high you going to spin it? ;)

ZDriver96 04-21-2004 09:48 AM

XE style cams have those steep ramps so they make more mid range power 3-5k rpms but still pull hard to 6400rpms. After that they drop fast. So spinning will be at 6400.

And mars- IS that 440rwhp or flywheel hp your guessing?

Half Fast 04-21-2004 11:07 AM

That cam likes a lot of revs. If you're building the bottom end I'd take it up to 6600 and you'll probably see 410rwhp peak.

Suicidal Racing 04-21-2004 11:45 AM

u left out the compresion, what is it i'll say may be 420 rwhp

NXz28 04-21-2004 12:15 PM

I think you should go with a custom grind cam for the heads....
Should be easily in the 425rwhp range with a matching cam...

ZDriver96 04-21-2004 12:26 PM

10.8:1 compression..

Richard I'll check it out on the dyno to see at where teh car falls at 6600rpms. Then decide exactly where i'll have the rev limiter/shift point.

I'll check the funds for that matching cam too..

Either Or. I think your injectors are gonna be a tad on the small side I think.

ZDriver96 04-23-2004 11:31 AM

Nah 30lbs injectors will do.. Stock were 24lbs and good for around 350rwhp tops. 7 more lbs should be good for where I think i'll be at... Im guessing 410 like half fast said if i dont get a matching cam.

But im not sure because i dont really know how much power i'll get from weight savings and increased cubes or how much power i'll get from the better heads.
