Default gear questions!

what size gears should i get for my 94 formula LT1? some guy told me 4.10s but i dont want to have to shift every second... would 3.73s be good? how much different is that from stock? is it worth the money?

depends what you have now. A lot of 6spd's came with 3.42's, if that's what you have, I'd spend your money elsewhere because 3.42 is a nice gear.

1. Put the back of the car up on jackstands ...

2. go under the car and put a chalk mark on the driveshaft.

3. Have someone turn the wheels one full rotation and count how many times the driveshaft turns while your still under the car.

If the driveshaft makes approx. 3.5 turns you have a 3.42 ... if it makes about 3.25 turns you have 3.23s, etc. etc.

If you have 3.42s definately spend your money somewhere else ... 3.42 is plenty of gearing to get the lt1 going, very nice low end power.

do you have a six speed or a auto? six speeds only came with 3.42's...autos with 3.23 or 2.73...the code on the autos for 3.23 on the side of the drivers door is gu5 i believe

I had 373's in my auto and the only reason why I did that was b/c I chipped my stock gears...I would stick with the gears if you have the 342's
