Short block question..

At what point (I mean HP and RPMwise) do the stock 2-bolt mains become a problem on a LT1? I can understand having 4-bolt mains for drag racing, but are they absolutely necessary on a mostly street driven car that rarely sees the track? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Im not sure what HP levels they are good till, but theres a few guys that run mid 11's on "mostly stock" blocks. They will chime in here in a few minutes!

I would say 500-600. And I know of one car that seems to be living happy revving to almost 7k on a stock bottom end. It dynoed 320 ish I think before we did the long tubes.
