Case in point: the BMW / Mercedes section has basically been overrun with what appears to be spam, with you personally contributing 90% of the posts... also, you're the first (and only) to reply to my thread here. So uh, yeah-- what the hell has happened?

No offense intended, as you appear to be a real individual (and a super-contributor), but the activity here appears to pale in comparison to what it was when I left years ago.

Scratch what I said above-- upon closer inspection, most of your posts can't be by a single individual. You must have some kind of content-reposting bot, which I presume is aimed at generating those "hundreds of people every night".

Sometimes I post things that people send me which they find to be of interest.

A lot of things that I am interested in are also enjoyed by other people.

I accept full responsibility for that number.

While buttheads blame my posting for the site declining, it thrived instead.
Prior to a certain date (the good old days) lol most number of users was 1,900 ever on line
......back when it was a "thriving forum"........vs an increase up to 3,302 on 05-05-2017.....

The New York Times bases their success on the number of Readers instead of the number
of letters to the editor. Tampa Racing success is not based on people posting. I can cite other successes of Tampa Racing, that don't depend on people posting.

The car scene changes. People change. Years ago I respected the people who drove Hondas.
Now that they have real jobs, they bring me Mercedes, BMWs, STI's, Shelby's, nice cars.....
Showing respect attracted people to me.

Tampa Racing has been respectful and attracted people.
The "other" site did not show respect for people and drove them away.

No doubt! I have personally seen what appears to be at least 1,000 spam (er, proxy??) posts made directly by you from a cursory glance today alone. I have no doubt that you're responsible for MUCH of that "conversation". Quite the echo chamber.

The fact is, you have a car "forum" without active engagement from a number of members. In addition, there's you: a strange super-contributor who posts "things of interest that people send you", at an extremely high rate, such to basically squash the visibility of any real member interaction. You comment on absolutely everything, but are completely alone in doing so almost all of the time. This place feels like a shell of its former self, back when fewer (real) people interacted, asked questions, and learned from each other. Nobody gives a damn what the New York Times' impressions metrics are, which is why I suspect that there are so many damned crickets chirping right now instead of people chiming in on this thread.
