Scrap yard that sells
Anyone know of any scrap yards that sell close to Brandon/South Shore? Looking for assorted stuff for prototype projects.

If you are looking for a junkyard.....now called "recyclers", I go to LKQ/causeway and US41
to obtain car parts to carefully measure and modify. If you are looking for a source of scrap metal instead, let me know. |
Scrap sheetmetal, rod, tubes, bars and such.
I haven't walked the LKQ U-pick-it yard in a couple of years. Found a few X1/9's in there for spare parts. I need to go back there soon. |
I used to go to a place Tampa Scrap metal in Ybor city.
I want to say it was on 7th Avenue or Broadway. They may have moved the entrance, but it was near a set of railroad tracks as I was driving east from Ybor city. They may have become more sophisticated by now, but the people were friendly, loaned you a hard hat, escorted you around the yard once they knew what you were looking for. Used to have no minimum order. What are you building? Any pictures? |
My car usually needs things fabricated these days. I used to measure things from other
cars and adapt them to my car. I have probably heard all the "that will never fit" BS that the 17 year olds used to post on here. Some people can only do bolt-on mods, and some of us are blessed with being able to build things.
