Red Light Cameras go into effect in Tampa on 1 October

I brake on yellow real hard and don't even attempt to pass on a yellow anymore unless I am right under the light when it turns yellow. I've been pissing people off lately, but I'm not getting a ticket. I've already heard horror stories of people getting a ticket for being over the white line or their butt of the car was passing on a red.

they have these redlight camera's all over denver and boulder too. Almost as soon as I moved here, I started using yellow lights as red lights. No sense in pushing it. And besides, traffic out here is a joke compared to Tampa, I'm just not in a rush anymore.

the lights flashed, the old lady over reacted and side swiped the person next to her.
me, being the great guy I am, stopped and stuck around to make sure everyone was alright.
the old woman told the cop that the bright flash scared her, that she thought she was about to get hit so she tried to get out of the way, and in her panic, must of hit the car beside her.
aren't these things supposed to prevent wrecks?

Don't fall into the weak-excuse trap of blaming flashing lights only.
One reason people crash at red light cameras is that a person
never knows when the yellow will come on, so they brake early
to avoid getting caught in the intersection with the camera on them.
The two cars behind them crash.
Plenty of places where the cameras go in, they are removed later.
Until people catch on and attorneys win enough cases, the cities make
a ton of money in the meantime.
Has anyone checked the site for National Motorist Association?-Bob

For some reason the other night on Gandy/Manhattan, the lights flashed
after the traffic had been coming from the side for a while...... wonder what
tripped that? We had all been sitting still for a while. Strange.-Bob

Anyone know what number to call and talk to someone about these red light cameras? They almost caused an accident the other night.
