Quick Question on Registering a Vehicle
 

I was wondering if anyone knew how man cars you can register and title in one year without having to have a dealer license? Someone told me once and i forgot im on my 3rd car this year and maybe a 4th lol Thanks

I don't think it's a set number. I think they look more to if you are profiting from it. I've know guys who got a letter from the DMV buying and selling 3 cars and other guys who've had 5 to 6 cars and heard nothing.

IIRC the magic number is supposed to be 6. at least thats what it used to be. you could register up to 6 cars in your name before needing to be a dealer.

but that doesn't mean you have to register every car you have in your name. I've bought and sold over a 12 cars in a 6 month time period before and never titled any of them in my name so as far as the DMV is concerned, I have only owned 1 car over the last 2 years.

ppl say 6 but not to long i ask on the dmv and they say they got no number set they look at time between car sale or change on your name...
