Ran the dirt dauber race saturday at eastbay and someone hit Janien in the first turn flattening her inside rear tire. The bead never came off and the tire just wrapped around the rim giving her a ton of stagger which actually helped her. Her car looked like a freakin' slot car going around the track after that. She led from flag to flag. It was only her second race.

that's awesome. So you are going to change your race setup now to flat tires?

 

We were joking about just rubbing everybody with the inside tire (sometimes we run the opposite way) every race until she gets a flat but I'm not buying a tire every time. Something tells me the track would disqualify her if it turned into a regular thing

 

So are you going to switch to a v6 and dump the Crown Vic now since your wife won with hers?

 

Nah, I was just as fast but I spun out once and then a little later half the field passed me under caution. We still got back up to 4th. Janien's flat tire really helped her, had it been on the other side she probably would have been dead last. Here's a link to a video of it. You can see her get hit by the red car coming out on to the track going into the first turn, from that point on she's on a flat. The guy that was on her back bumper going onto the back stretch was last years champion and you can see how much she pulls from him through the turns. I already told her not to expect to get that lucky next week, lol.

That was pretty awesome. I didn't see anyone hit her. Must of been real quick and out of view. I dunno. I liked your 360. haha. You kept it under control. Looks like fun.

 

wow thats some luck on the tire holding onto that rim and giving her more then average bite... Whats the specs on the (im assuming) Dirt dobber class, I myself just picked up a dirt track car to run up here in NC. Season starts in april and need to get new rims and radiatior as it was hit head on in its last race and the rims were borrowed. Was previously a asphalt car converted and will run in the Street Stock class here.
