Subaru rally car question
Im pretty sure that the STI is the most popular from the Subaru family to have as a rally car but me and a friend were curious if the other Subaru cars were as good for example the forester or the legacy would they be suitable? We know nothing about rally cars so sorry if this is a stupid question. Just a little curious.

I dont know I always thought they had a long wheelbase which wasnt as good. Thats why you see so many hatch backs as Fiesta, Renaults, Peugeot's, and so on. But i could be wrong maybe there are advantages in longer wheelbase.

That was why Subaru switched to a hatchback for the 08 STi, but then the FIA changed the rules to essentially force them out of the WRC.

Aren't most of subarus cars based on the same frame as the STi? Half of them have the STi drivetrain and/or engine optional anyway, the only disadvantage would be roll center/weight.
