Default Need A/C System Repairs

1996 buick Regal. Mine don't work. I want it to start working. Compressor won't turn on unless I jumper it to the battery, and even then it doesn't cool down the air. Not really into the whole taking it to a mechanic and spending 1,000 dollars to fix the A/C, especially since the car is a pile of shit to begin with.

Anyone who does this kinda stuff on the side around (North) Tampa wanna take on the job? Need you to fix it, vacuum it, then charge it for me.

So, umm, I found out what the problem is, its a leak coming from the high side port. Question is, what the hell is the tube called? I need to buy a whole new tube, but I have no idea which one it is to order. Any ideas?

Look on this site and match up what line you need. not sure if you need the tube or the lines. Pictures will identify and you can enter regal trim code.

If you get tired of trying to fix it. There is a really cheap shop on S. Dayle Maybre that has worked on that A/C in three of my past vehicles.

+1 on the above advice, sometimes a professional A/C repair is just a hundred bucks or two. Well worth it when compared to sweating your ass off in a car without A/C in florida.

yup usually youc an replace the valves yourself. How bad is it leaking? You can just go to a parts store and get some of those selfcharging cans and fill it yourself. It might last you till winter till I needs filled up again or I might go in a week.

I dont trust the cans of "stuff" you never know what is in them unless you you have an identifier.
