my buddy wants to advance the timing on his 88si hb with the 1.6l motor. we dont have the book on his car and all we need to know is which way to turn the dustributor? thanks for helping.

After you have the timing light hooked up turn it one way and youll see if it advances or retards it. Adjust accordingly.

thats just it we dont have a timing light- doing it the ghetto way?

i dont think timing is something that you should just eyeball...
