Accelerators becoming stuck due to floormats! Not sure where to post this so everyone knows, feel free to repost anywhere! If not already a re-post!

My sisters mustang had a floor mat that would slide up and hold the gas pedal at wot. It was quite interesting when it happened.

Didnt they have this problem on the trucks a year or two ago?

Damn I thought that it only affected all-weather mats but I guess not...

My BMW floormats have a velco pad that screws into the floor, and another piece on the bottom of the floor mat to stop it from moving around, and even that isn't 100% secure. I'm not sure how much of a safety you can put into a floormat.

A good friend I work with has a Camry and she's been complaining for the two years she's had it that it's been getting stuck.

In my camry they have two little hooks by the seat and it doesn't slide around or anything.

My Civic did it a few times because the mats are so old the little tabs on the bottom all the pokers lol they just fell off. I kid you not I bought the car and lifted up the mat and theres like hundreds of little black pieces all over. Its actually gotten hung up on the clutch pedal before too haha. Then one day I was fed up, while driving I picked up my heels and flung that shit in the back seat. Thought about using high strength velcro or making diamond plate floor mats but that shit is expensive!

My floor mat goes all the way up behind the gas pedal and extends all the way back to where my seat begins, pretty much covers every inch of carpet in front of me. So its not possible for it to do this.


Shoulda bought American, bitches.
