The thing that really sucks is if GM does put another motor in his car the numbers wont match and the collector value goes down the shitter. To quote a good friend of mine (on the net):

There are 2 kinds of vette owners.. ones with tons of problems.. and ones that will eventually have tons of problems (or one major one). haha
My 00 C5 has been to the dealer 4 times so far for misc problems..
Vettes are 4 - 5 year cars at best.. after that you need to upgrade and get new ones. My 93 Vette (also bought new) had many dealer visits as well... just part of ownership
I still like them though.. just know your dealer well.. they are your pit crew for that first 30k miles.. haha

Hmmm my uncle has had his C-5 for years now and it runs 12.1 with minor bolt-ons and never had a problem. If you ever see a older black buy runnin low 12s in a red Vette its him. I dont see where a Vette engine would have any more problems than a Camaro or Trans-am. On the other hand Ive been seeing modular motors letting go left and right lately. I can think of five within recent months.
If memory serves the C-5 iteration of the Corvette came out in 97. Good lord I just realized that it is indeed 2002 and 5 years could actually qualify for years and years (although not by most peoples standards). Ugh I am old memory slippnfdasss.sst....what?
