My friends said there was a Turbo Type R on drag radials running 9.4 at the 8th mile on sunshine speedway. My guess was this guy cant drive or its not true. I know turbo doesnt add as much HP to Rs as it does to the ls and gsr...but still 9.4? so basically is this BS or not?

 

i have never seen or heard anything about turbo type rs but i would imagine that they would be faster they should already be doing that or close to that stock. and that is on street tires. i thought for sure that a type r on slicks completely stock could run that. but then again who knows. i personally think either the guy cant drive or it is

 

Why would you do a turbo on a motor that is that high of a compression.

first off if you are agood driver you may see low 9s in the 1/8th in a type rsecond with boost on a type r there compresion only alows for mabe 5lbs of boost safely ive seen one it wasn unimpressive its just the ricer mentality that automaticly gos type r = fast ! they are very over rated !dont get me wrong i love a type r take off the wing do a few mods an its a great car but i just get sick of people expecting a type r to be a god of the streets !!

 

There is a Turbo Type R here in Lakeland. I ran against him about a month or so ago in the 1/8 (Lakeland). He was running street tires and ran a 9.1 to my 9.0. I heard him spinning the whole way down the track so I know it could be faster.

Just putting a turbo on one doesnt make it fast...it takes good tuning the get the car running right!

 

When I first ran the quarter I had a bad 1/8th of 9.7 and thats with bad tire spin and all motor. With a good launch Im thinking 9.3 or 9.4 just being all motor and he has turbo running 9.4 thats bad. I think he needs better tuning or going a different route instead of turbo.
