i had that same 3.8 shit out an alternator in my monte carlo with the same symtoms your providing.. i bet thats it.

UPDATE! It was the fuel pump it was 400$ for a new one, i put it in my self. Instead of dropping the tank (which would evolve a Shit ton of work) I Drilled some holes in the hatch and pulled back some mettle and BAM there was the pump, pulled it out dropped in the new one and the car runs better then ever! I also changed the Fuel filter, boy was the gas coming out of that NASTY...

400 dollars? Where did you pay that? An aftermarket Walbro pump is only like 230.

I admire people who solve problems with simple solutions. I have also cut inspection holes, and usually make an aluminum cover plate which I seal
to keep water and fumes out.-Bob
