that's exactly it... if you want a reliable car don't mod it. It doesn't really matter what model or brand just don't mod it and pretty much anything you get will be reliable. (there are a few exceptions to the rule but for the most part you'll be okay)

Stock vs Modified

My bone stock 1998 4.3 S-10 broke a crankshaft in half at 76,000 miles, and then blew a head gasket on a stock replacement motor 30,000 miles after that.

While my modified (turbocharged) Honda breaks something almost every time I take it out.

So I guess nothing is reliable....
Hopefully this 2008 Civic Hybrid I just bought has better luck.

just be ready to fork out over 6k for new batteries in 4 or 5 years for the civic... the dealer neglects to tell you about that... and no its not covered under any warranty.

get a bridge ported rx7 with 115k miles on it it will last you about 5 min
