GM has released the video of the 2009 Chevy Corvettehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Corvette hitting the famed Nurburgring on June 27th.
The ZR1 finished the lap in 7:26:4, which officially beat the NissanNissan Motors GT-R's time of 7:29. The completely stock ZR1 was driven by GM development engineer Jim Mero, although there has been a few rumors that the car was modified.
The Corvettehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corvette ZR1 is powered by a superchargedhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/supercharger 638 horsepower 6.2L V8 engine. The starting price for the ZR1 is set at $103,300.

wow, there is definitely room for improvement in his driving although I couldn't do any better or even come close to posting the time he did. And as far as I know that was a production car, not modified.

also if anyone ever goes to Kentucky you have to visit the bowling green plant. I went there in 06 and watched some c6, c6z06, and Cadillac xlr being built. It is an amazing plant and very cool to see.
