Exhaust tone/appearance preference

A while back, when only once in a while did you see a sport compact with a big polished resonator (Think N1-style) I thought It was pretty cool...

Now I find myself interested in the cleaner OEM-appearing performance systems.
Especially the flat black painted ones.

Or even (Specific to s13/14 KA cars) a system using a high flow cat and a straight pipe to one or two slant cut tips out back.

Is it just me?

No, I would prefer a mellow growl at idle with a good natural exahust note at revs. I think resonators are annoying and stupid loud.
One is clean, true performance... the other is just plain rice

I've been a fan of slant cut duals for a long time.

S13 with some clean slant cuts on one side looks clean. Probably what I'm gonna do when I get one...

i flat blacked my exhaust (thermal R&D, oem shaped), next step is to hack off the 4in exhaust tip and put something smaller on there. I've been stopped for my exhaust twice. Once it was flat blacked, the other high polished stainless. Guess which time I got the ticket, and which time I didn't ;)

On my last Supra i had a custom straight pipe that was 3in from the downpipe back with a 4in tip with no cat or resonator. The car literally sounded like a dump truck and was loud as fuck and over the two years of owning it i never got stopped for it. the only time i got pulled over for it was when i was running open downpipe through Citrus Park mall and some douche HCSO pulled me and gave me a warning.
