I don't know who/what scale lied to you, but a 1996-2000ish civic coupe weighs about 2300lbs. unless you had blowup dolls in the car, your numbers are pretty far off.
Now a production supercar with over 1000 horsepower weighs less than your economy car that's over 8 years old, that's pretty amazing.

Just for fun, look at some CRX weights...
